Welcome To The Barrasford Arms Country Pub With Restaurant And Rooms

Top chef Tony Binks took over the 1870s pub in 2006. Already voted “Destination Restaurant of the Year,” the pub sits at the heart of Barrasford village in the North Tyne valley.

Barrasford Arms Country PubIt regularly hosts quoits tournaments, Hunt meets, darts finals and vegetable competitions and the friendly bar is a focus to enjoy the crack, hand-pulled real ales and general banter.

The two public dining rooms and small private dining room accommodate guests from all over the north, drawn by the landlord’s formidable reputation in the kitchen.

Tony and his young team serve Quality Standard Northumbrian beef and lamb, seasonal game, fish from the North Sea, local cheeses and stunning home-made desserts, accompanied by an excellent selection of modestly priced wines.

Tony’s cooking style is traditionally English with French influences, a homage to his friend and mentor, international cuisinier Albert Roux, who pays the occasional visit.

There are comfortable bedrooms, and great facilities for walkers and cyclists passing through to explore the area, which is close to Hadrian’s Wall.

This is no ordinary country pub – this is where pub food is elevated to a taste experience. No frills, no “fine dining” but the very best fresh local, seasonal food, served with style and panache.
